Are you a disciple of Jesus? Does it break your heart that people die daily without Christ? Do you want to help get the gospel to them? Can you teach the bible faithfully and help others do the same? Do you believe God’s heart and desire is for every nation, town and people group to be represented in heaven? Do you believe God uses Christ-centered, local-church plants so people can hear his message of salvation? Then Vida has a great opportunity for you.
Together, we can collaboratively train and plant rural Christ-centered churches with local leaders.
Vision
To see the Circle of Silence in Central Mexico transformed by the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ to become a Circle of Proclamation.
Most of the 115 districts of the Circle of Silence are considered rural and populations between 2,500 and 90,000 people have no evangelical Christian church.
A “rural” community is usually an isolated, forgotten, and small place. It is defined by geographic, demographic and socio-economic realities. Rural areas are often overlooked when it comes to resourcing, training, support, and mobilization. Yet, almost half of the world’s population still lives in a rural context.
Through this collaboration we will focus on training and working with native church planters. They already know the language and culture and live on the same socio-economical level with the neighbors they intend to reach.
This approach will…
- Promote the theological and missiological rationale for rural church planting within the wider evangelical community.
- Recruit candidates within evangelical churches and Bible-training centers for the purpose of rural church planting.
- Train regional leaders who are devoted to advancing rural church planting in their region. We will create coaching teams to encourage any rural planter in their region.
- Resource rural church planters by creating communities for support, context-specific content, and conduits for funding.
If trends continue and more people migrate from rural communities to urban centers, we envision two things. First, we see those who have met Jesus and grown in gospel joy in their villages and towns move as missionaries to major cities. Second, we believe that those who do not leave their remote settings will have an accessible gospel community for the glory of God and the good of their neighbors.
Jesus said, “I must preach the good news of the kingdom of God to the other towns as well; for I was sent for this purpose.” Luke 4:43
